The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana teamed up with a local tanning salon for a canned food drive.

Today'sTanning has been collecting canned goods since October at five salons across northwest Louisiana.

They dropped off about 3,000 canned goods on Tuesday at the food bank.

One volunteer was shocked about how many donations they received from the canned food drive.

"It's just great. It's an outpour of the community that we didn't really expect. You know, we, of course, put this on. We didn't know what we were going to get. It just got bigger and better than we ever expected," says Kimberly Keys, marketing director of Today's Tanning.

Today's Tanning collected cans from their salons in Shreveport-Bossier, Ruston and Monroe.
