Auditions coming up for SLT's production of "Company" | Arts & Culture
Title (Max 100 Characters)
A Tony-Award-winning show will hit the stage in Shreveport later this year, and the Shreveport Little Theater is getting ready to open auditions for the upcoming musical.
"Company", written by Stephen Sondheim, has won a total of seven Tony Awards. Anyone who would like to audition needs to call the Shreveport Little Theater before January 15 to arrange a date and time for the try-out. SLT veterans do not need to audition, but need to call the box office if they're interested.
Synopsis: On the night of his 35th birthday, confirmed bachelor Robert contemplates his unmarried state. In vignette after hilarious vignette, we are introduced to "those good and crazy people," his married friends, as Robert weighs the pros and cons of married life. In the end, he realizes being alone is "alone, not alive."
An honest, witty, sophisticated look at relationships, "Company" is as contemporary and relevant as ever. It features many of Stephen Sondheim's best-known songs (including "Another Hundred People," "The Ladies Who Lunch" and "Being Alive").
All roles are open. Rehearsals will begin in late May of 2013.
